Ben & Jerry's
Ben and Jerrys of Blacksburg held a fundraiser Wednesday to benefit the families of fallen heroes Derrick McFarland and Eric Sutphin killed in the line of duty last week.

I came by to see how it was going, and there were probably 10 to 12 college students that came in together at the same time, and I just thought to myself: thats fantastic that those guys and girls are turning out to help the McFarland and Sutphin family, Officer David Cole said of the Blacksburg Police Department.

Serving at the fundraiser
For eight hours, residents could enjoy delicious ice cream while helping both families.

Ben and Jerrys of Blacksburg will donate 50% of the pre tax sales from the event to a fund for the families.

The fact that Ben and Jerrys is willing to donate half to their pre taxed dollars proceeds to be divided equally between the two memorial funds is just unbelievable--that a business would support its local law enforcement that way.
